Coach's Notes: San Marcos had their share of scoring opportunities in their 0-3 loss to Atascadero. In two different innings junior Kristen Hehnke did a fine job getting bat on ball. Both innings she came up to bat with two outs and a runner on third. Her first shot at the RBI was a traditional base hit to right field, but Atascadero charged and gunned to first to rob SMHS of an RBI. Then again in the seven, with two outs, Hehnke hit another probable RBI ball to short center field, but the Atascadero ball player was playing in (and in the "rover" type area) and shoe-stringed a catch to snag another SMHS RBI from Hehnke. Freshmen Katie Coy ripped a foul ball just feet away from a homer as well. SMHS had hits from Senior Jessica Osuna (a sweet double) and Maggie Glenn (a single). In sum, the Royals were desiring, but the box score shows nada! | ||||||||||
